Our Trip To Melbourne

This was our first trip away as a family and Lachlan's first plane flight. We had a busy few days - Jonathan preached in Lynbrook and we were able to visit Lachlan's great-grandparents, great aunty and second cousins!

Just Because....

This post is a 'photo-free' post....just because I feel like it!

Four and a half months have past since Lachlan was born. As you can tell by this blog, he is the most precious thing we have ever done and the most precious thing we have on this earth. He fills up our lives completely.

Last night we were talking about how we really did not know having a baby would be this great. Someone said to me the other day 'Just wait until he is 2' - and yes, I know there will be heaps of challenges ahead of us, I know sometimes it hurts to love this much. There is a quote that says 'Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body' How true.....

But we would not change our lives right now for anything. This 'season' of our lives is a huge change for us, and we are loving the newness, unpredictability and beauty that it is bringing.

Life and Times of Lachlan John

Lachlan goes to the shop in the Lachlan Mobile! Thanks cousin Nicholas for the hand-down-hat! It fits just snug!

Lachlan has learnt that there are options to sucking his hands....now he's desperately trying to suck his feet.....but first he's got to get the socks off!

Sunday Morning at Grandad and Grandmas

Proud parents to say the least! Our son is just so adorable....what a BLESSING!

Grandma and Lachlan in the garden. Grandma made Lachlan this wonderful little suit...complete with all the old time "smocking".

Lachlan's cousins Hannah and Sarah spoil him so much! He especially loves smiling at Hannah.

I ain't proud! I just cant wait until we can do some stuff together.

Introducing Lachlan to grandma's garden....I am sure he'll have a few jobs around the garden to do when he's old enough to push a broom.

Lachlan at 4 months. He smiles continually....from the minute he wakes up, right until he goes to bed. In fact....he gets extra giggly when he's tired. Although those giggles quickly turn to cries...it's funny.

Lachlan Loves To Talk!

Lachlan has a very expressive face when he is talking.....here are some pics of him having a little conversation early in the morning.

The Next MS Readathon Champion!

Reading with Daddy. Lachlan's favourite book is 'Dear Zoo' It is really amazing how he enjoys it - he just quietens down and really looks at the pictures.

Growing so fast!!!

Gran's Birthday

We went for a picnic for Gran's birthday. Lachlan had fun with his Uncle and cousins!

Lachlan's Dedication Day

Today, we are here to dedicate Lachlan to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
We would like to give thanks to God for blessing us with Lachlan. We acknowledge that God is the giver of life and know that God knew Lachlan before he was conceived. He chose us to be his parents and we consider this to be a very special blessing.
This is something we do not take lightly and we acknowledge the awesome responsibility that comes from being a parent.
Today we want to commit ourselves to raising Lachlan in a way that would bring glory to God. We commit to sharing God’s Word with Lachlan and to be Godly examples for him to follow. We understand this is a daunting task and we trust that God will give us wisdom to know His will.
There is a song that someone wrote for their son, and the words say “if I could, I would protect you from what you will see. This world may offer love and beauty, but it lied to me. So I will teach you, if you will listen and I promise to listen too. “
We would love to protect Lachlan from the evils in this world, but we know that this is not possible. Lachlan, we will teach you and we will love you, and we pray that God would protect you.

‘Lachlan’ means Warrior. It has been a fight to become Lachlan’s parents…….

Our little man!

Well Lachlan is growing up and learning new things everyday. We've found he's quite talkative...to who ever and whatever. He often amuses himself looking out the window making all sort of noises. He loves other people talking to him as well. He's also discovered his fist as an alternative to his dummy.....actually, I think he prefers his fist.

The last few weeks he's had a bit of a cold and cough, but now he's well and truly over that.

Anyway, here's a few picture for all those keeping up with the progress of "our little man".

He really can smile.....real nice!

Lachlan and cousin Sarah! I think he's be spoilt by his two cousions Sarah and Hannah...they really "dote" over him!

Thanks Stu

Here's the little man in his Raiders gear. You wont believe it, but our friend Stuart (who happens to be a Parramatta supporter) got Lachlan this new outfit. At least he knows what's best for the little fella! Thanks STU!

Back by Popular Demand!

Daddy and Lachlan out with the birds!

"Lachlan, this is a budgerigar"

"Lachlan, what do you think of OUR birds?"

Mummy and Lachlan! Mum's touch always seems to do the trick when it comes to getting Lachy to sleep.
Lachlan is a great snuggler!

Isn't he just beautiful!
I am thinking of patenting this technique for dealing with "up the backers!". There is just no way of getting a good go at it if they are on their back! Try it...it works!
