15 months......

Words Lachlan says:

- Mummy
- Dada
- Jack
- ball
- please
- up
- nose, ears, eye, mouth
- dance
- fish
- kiss
- bath
- shoes

That's all I can think of for now.

15 months ago today Lachlan was born. Oh, I get so mushy when I think of having Lachlan. I loved being pregnant, and dare I say it.....I loved my labour! He is such a beautiful boy and we have so enjoyed watching him grow and getting to know his little personality.

He is very kind, always giving toys to others and not minding if they get taken off him. (I am expecting this to end soon, but am enjoying at the moment). Lachlan is so cuddly and will often put his arms around my head, give me a squeeze and then a big kiss - for no reason at all.

I think he now thinks all babys should scream. This is a bit frustrating actually, and I'm not sure what to do...... today when at Woolworths we were at the counter and a little baby was screaming at the next counter. Lachlan turned to look at him and gave a big scream back. Not exactly the cutest thing! Oh well.....

He LOVES music! I made him this cardboard guitar quickly last week, and put some string around it. Lachlan loves it! He puts it on and plays it when we have his music on. In the car it has been a bit of a battle listening to anything but Wiggles. If we have the radio or another CD on, he will point to the CD player and first give a scream, then say 'mummy', then try 'dada', then he says 'peees'...how can we resist that?!

Lachlan Dancing! He hasn't mastered his feet yet......

Still the messiest eater ever, I am sure!

Ready For Summer!

Aunty Ruth bought these sunglasses for Lachlan a while ago. At first he wasn't too fussed about them and wouldn't let us put them on. Just last night we tried again, and Lachlan loves them!!! He wanted them on for ages this morning :)

Walking His Puppy

If we ask Lachlan to go and take his puppy for a walk, he will find it and do laps of the house.

Eating...I mean Drawing!

I bought lachlan these crayola crayon things last week. I am such a marketers dream! The week before I told Jonathan that surely you wouldn't want to encourage that fist grip thing that babies do and just using plain old crayons would be better. Then I saw the little set of three and got them. My thinking was that Lachlan wouldn't be able to eat them.

Yesterday Lachlan did some sweet scribbles for about 10 minutes. After that I went to the kitchen and when I came back to him he had bit the end of the crayon off and had little red specks all through his mouth......

A Relaxing Weekend

This morning we arrived home from a very relaxing weekend. We haven't been away for a while, and had a bit of a free weekend (as free as it gets) so decided to take the opportunity. We went to Braemer Bay where my Uncle and Aunt have a cabin. We have been there a few times and really enjoy it. It is very comfortable with everything you could need. Jonathan usually goes fishing, but this time didn't even take his rod. We just had a quiet couple of days. Saturday we went for a walk, and a drive to the Eucumbene Dam wall. Sunday we went for a drive and lunch in Jindabine.
It was so good just to be away together.

See the snow on the mountains!

All rugged up for a walk.

Lachlan making himself at home.

Having some quiet time listening to 'Oomboom Baroomba'.

Lachlan at almost 13 months.....for the record

- Walks everywhere! Even tries to run sometimes :) He loves being on his feet.
- Gives kisses
- Gets REALLY excited when playing with balls
- Still wakes up once a night (around 3)
- Says 'this' when pointing at things he wants
- Says a few more words. Some words he is trying to copy what we say, like 'teddy bear' and 'dear Jesus' - very cute. All the words I can think of that he says at the moment are: mum, dad, dee (birdie), ta, cheese, teddy bear, dear Jesus, brrmmm (not a word, I know! but it means 'car' :) ), has said 'pop' once, that's all for now.
- Eats lots and loves meat and yoghurt - not together.
- Is changing from two 2 hour sleeps to maybe one 3 hour sleep a day.
- LOVES books.

Lachlan actually has 3 Aunty Vicki's! But one of his Aunty Vicki's made this beautiful quilt and gave it to us for Lachlan.

She has been asked to display it as part of a study done on quilting. It is ALL hand quilted!!!!!!

Lachlan's First Birthday!!!!!

Last Sunday was Lachlan's first birthday!
In the morning, we gave Lachlan his little birthday present, and headed off to church.
After church, we celebrated with family and some friends. Lachlan was quite oblivious to everything that happened, but enjoyed having so many people around.
Here are a few pictures from the big day!

Lachlan and Jonathan - first thing Sunday morning (cant you tell!)
