A Very Busy Weekend

This last weekend, we went to Sydney. Jonathan was preaching at a church on Sunday. We left Saturday morning and went stright to our hotel. Lachlan was very excited that he had his own bed (although he slept in the portacot!)

He spent a lot of time talking on the phone to pop, gran, hannah, jojo, Aunty Ruth, nicks, ahdad, grandma and Aunty Shell.

And passing a little bit of time with daddy....

On Monday it was a public holiday, so we decided to stay the day and take Lachlan to the zoo. The last time we went to the zoo was when I was 18 weeks pregnant, so officially it wasn't his first time there :)

We took the bus, train and ferry to get there. Lachlan's first time on all three, he LOVED it all of course.

Jonathan was holding Lachlan over to see the Meerkats. There was a crowd of people around, and before we knew it Lachlan had thrown his muslei bar into the enclosure! All the meerkats came running up and started fighting over the muslei bar.......very funny for me who was standing away from Jonathan and Lachlan :) Everyone was looking at Jonathan!
Lachlan being a lion!
Watching the seal show.

We left at about 4:30, went back to Circular Quay and waited for a ferry to take us all the way back to Parramatta (about an hour and a half travel). Lachlan fell asleep while we were waiting for the ferry and stayed asleep all the way back. We quickly had some dinner (BEAUTIFUL and AUTHENTIC chinese - so authentic the menu was full of things like pigs kidneys, and even our chicken dish came with nearly the whole chicken in there!), and then headed home arriving back after midnight. Lots of fun!

One special boy...

We have held onto Lachlan when he wakes up that bit longer this week.
Last Sunday we all went for a walk up to the park and took some lovely pictures of Lachlan.

Play with water....

and eat iceblocks!
At Pine Island for the first Youth activity for 2009

And a second trip on and airplane to Melbourne!!!
Visiting Nana & Poppa Mayer.....

...meeting up with second cousing Chelsea......

...making tea for Nana.....

...and exploring Nana Rankins backyard!
We stayed with Nana Rankin, and had a great time! Lachlan loved his stay and time with his great-nana!

One of the main reasons for our visit was to attend the launch of an exhibition 'keeps me sane....women craft wellbeing'. Lachlan's great aunty Vicki had a whole lot of her craft in the exhibition, including the quilt she gave Lachlan! A book was written about the whole study and a dvd was made too. It was a great night, and we were very proud of Aunty Vicki!

My Little Companion

Lachlan has been perfect company the past week. We've shopped, walked, ate, slept, played, sung, listened to my MP3 player, drawn, read, and played some more together.
The other morning we were getting ready for the day. I noticed he was standing watching me closer than usual. As I put on my cardigan, he smiled and said 'nice!'. It was such a sweet moment...made me feel so happy inside :)
A couple of days ago I went to buy some thongs for Lachlan. They only had some orange ones in his size, but then he saw some very colourful wiggles ones. He LOVES them!!!!! He even had to sleep with them on that afternoon.

Yes, he has already pulled off one of the wiggles signs!

He is missing his daddy. When he asks where he is I tell him in the airplane. He shoots his hands in the air with some sound effects. A couple of times he has heard a noise in the carport. He will stop and look in that direction and after a while say 'daddy?' He is happy enough and it will be beautiful to see him get excited at the airport when we pick Jonathan up.

And finally, some beautiful reminders of an almost 20 month old around the house........

It's Been A While!

I just saved all our photos on our camera, and then realised it has been way too long since we last updated this blog!

Of course, Dec/Jan is always hectic, so many things come before blogging at this time :)
Here's some photos from the last few weeks.

At a friends wedding mid December. That is Lachlan smiling for the camera.
